Congress Programme

  • Rungan Sari

Rungan Sari has been chosen to host the World Congress from the sixth to the ninth day of the programme. With a history spanning back to its first enterprises in the 1980s, and the first constructions in the late 1990s, Rungan Sari is the living example of Bapak’s advice and receivings, which were that Kalimantan should be a centre for Subud’s enterprises and projects.

Within Rungan Sari there is a meeting centre and resort, two latihan halls and a significant number of enterprises and projects that continue to influence the local area. Rungan Sari and its surroundings are home to over 150 Subud residents and a sizeable Subud group.

  • Dates

The World Congress is scheduled from Friday 19 July to Monday 29 July, 2024.

18 July is recommended for arrivals in Palangka Raya and 30 July for departures. Please keep in mind that depending on your flights, you may require a layover in Jakarta or Surabaya before arriving in Kalimantan.

The World Congress registration desk will open on July 18 and the opening ceremony will be held on the evening of July 19, 2024.

  • Swiss-Belhotel Danum

The Swiss-Belhotel Danum is a branch of the international chain of Swiss-Belhotels. This 4-star hotel is conveniently located 25 minutes from the airport and 35 minutes from Rungan Sari.

With its open, relaxed and tranquil resort ambiance, this hotel has been chosen as one of the venues to host the World Congress - specifically, the first five days, and final two days of the programme.

The hotel contains a total of 150 rooms for accommodation, as well as a comprehensive suite of business meeting spaces and a large ballroom.

The programme for the congress is still under development. A summary schedule that shows the general activities on a day-by-day basis can be found below. A more detailed schedule will be available here closer to the congress date.

Family Programme

A complementary and free-of-charge family programme will be run for children aged 5 - 12 during all plenary sessions. A dedicated space, activities and supervision will be provided.

This space will also be open for families to visit at any time throughout the Congress, however no supervision will be provided outside of the times that coincide with the plenary sessions. Children below the age of 5 are welcome to attend the family area, however they must be supervised by an adult - the Congress team will not take responsibility for the supervision of these children.

All children from the ages of 12 and above are welcome to enter the family space, however a separate programme will be available for this age category, including sports, games, events, workshops and possible excursions to the local area. Additional fees may apply. Finally, a day-care programme will also be available for parents wishing to have their children supervised during non-major events. This programme will be available at an additional cost.

For all Subud members interested in the family programme, the WCOT encourages you to log your interest during registration. The family programme coordinator will follow up with you separately and the full programme and details will be circulated in due course.

* There are no activities for the general membership on Day 0 although preparatory meetings for delegates, IH, MSF and some Wings will take place on this day.
