Congress Registration

The World Congress is scheduled from Friday 19 July to Monday 29 July, 2024. 18 July is recommended for arrivals in Palangka Raya and 30 July for departures.

As this congress requires substantial planning and preparation, we kindly encourage all interested Subud members to register as soon as possible so that the WCOT can make adequate arrangements. Congress Registrations Closes on the 30th of June.

Why do we have to pay Registration Fees?

World Congress registration fees for adults, including national delegates, always seem high – and this time in Kalimantan the fees are set at USD 445/per Subud member.

So just how are the fees used to benefit the congress attendees?

Registration fees help the WSA to create a safe and wonderful experience for everyone!

Transportation

  • This World Congress, your registration fees will cover transportation costs to the different venues, including airport pick up and drop off on key arrival and departure days. This is essential because Palangka Raya has no public transport system in place.

Safety and Security

  • For your health and safety, registration fees cover the cost of having an ambulance always on standby with medical assistance. We also will have a fire truck 24/7 because July is during the dry season when fire hazards are common. (If you still enjoy smoking, please make sure you maintain constant vigilance against accidental fire at Rungan Sari!!)

  • Fees pay for the drinking water stations sprinkled throughout our events, and for the additional toilet facilities to serve everyone when needed. It also pays for maintaining a rest area at Rungan Sari in case someone needs to chill out for an hour.

  • Security forces will be present to ensure everyone’s safety. A large gathering of ‘foreigners’ can attract pick-pockets and the like, and having a visible security presence will discourage behavior of this sort.

  • It’s important to comply with all laws and regulations in Indonesia, and the necessary permits from the government (local, provisional, national) to hold our World Congress have costs associated with them. Without the permits, we would not be able to hold congress in Rungan Sari / Palangka Raya.

Non-Subud Guests

  • All of the above services are available to non-Subud guests and Subud members alike. Not all of us have spouses or family members or friends who are in Subud, yet they may very much enjoy traveling with you to Indonesia. This is why we need to charge non-Subud adult attendees a fee of USD 445, because they will enjoy all the above benefits just like any Subud member.

Congress Services

  • Being an international association, language is often a barrier to connecting with others in a meaningful way and enjoying good communications with one another. Registration fees help cover the cost of translation equipment and services.

  • For Subud members, the spiritual side of our Association is the “main event”, and whereas the Grace of the latihan kejiwaan of Subud is given free of charge, the venues needed to do latihan together are not free. Your registration fees cover the cost of these venues, both at the hotel and at Rungan Sari.

Through paying your registration fees, you contribute to the success of the World Congress, in its comfort, safety, security, and to enhance the Subud family feeling of togetherness. Registration fees are like an investment, and demonstrates how much we care about the latihan kejiwaan of Subud.

Instead of always looking for a discount or ‘free’ registration, let’s develop the habit of looking at how we can help provide the financial means to share this experience with as many people as possible.

Please support paying full registration fees even if you are a national delegate or other officeholder, and by making a donation when registering.

Refund Policy

Should you need to cancel, we will refund the cost of your registration fee minus transaction fees up to a month prior to the Congress (June 19, 2024). No refunds will be granted after that date.

*breakfast should be included in each visitor’s hotel accommodation OR must be arranged separately.

About the Meal plans

Both plans averaging $20 per day for both meals. Meals will be served in the form of a buffet and will include vegetarian options, however no other alternative meal options will be available.

Meals cannot be purchased per day. There will be no partial packages available.

During the days at Rungan Sari, there will also be food available for purchase onsite from local vendors.

Special Dietary Requirements

Due to local and resource constraints, we are unable to offer any meals for special dietary requirements as we cannot guarantee that any of the food vendors available to us at this time will be able to deliver this adequately.

As such, should you or any members of your party have allergies or require any special dietary considerations, we recommend that you do not purchase the meal plan and instead personally organise your own meals.
